It does not only affect Italian. The installer always is displayed in English no matter which language you select. No matter if the language is changed in YaST initial screen or even before via linuxrc. *** Bug 1003175 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** The .mo files included in the ISO looks sane. I can run msgunfmt on them to obtain the translated strings. So the problem doesn't seem to be in the translations, but somewhere else. Beta2 works perfectly. Beta3 is buggy. I have tested the yast logs for both and they look identical (to the point in which translated labels appears in the logs, of course.). I have no clue why is happening. Nothing seems different in YaST from Beta2 to Beta3 in that regard. Ludwig, since you have an overview of everything that has changed, any clue? In the YaST change only very minor and unrelated changes has been introduced. To be precise: yast2 changed from 3.1.205 to 3.1.206 yast2-installation changed from 3.1.215 to 3.1.216 yast2-ruby-bindings changed to 3.1.50 to 3.1.51 yast2-branding-openSUSE changed from 3.1.40 to 3.1.41 I tried reverting the changes introduced in yast2, yast2-installation and yast2-ruby-bindings and it still fails. So the culprit is not any change in YaST. rubygem-fast_gettext is also unchanged, so it shouldn't be the culprit either. There was a big change actually, yast2-trans-* is generated from git rather than svn now. Maybe something went wrong. If the mo files however are included and look good I wonder what could be wrong then. Maybe a specific text domain missing? the files are named incorrectly. e.g. country.de.mo instead of country.mo => Karl *** Bug 1003504 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 1003410 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Fix submitted to Factory: https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/433781 The names are now: /usr/share/YaST2/locale/{locale}/LC_MESSAGES/{domain}.mo I hope that it is what we need because it is exactly the same what is was before, and my desktop is translated after installing that.
