Same video can be played without problems in Google Chrome but not in Chromium. I couldn't find a single Vimeo video which I could play in Chromium. Earlier everything worked. I suppose at certain version something must have changed.

Please set with the package from

Thanks. Installed 54.0.2840.90-88.2 from the first one and the video plays now.

Why is that not in the official update repo?

Because that update has not been released yet.
