I am running 42.3 and kontact / kmail-17.04.2-1.7.x86_64.rpm (5.5.2)

When I try to view an html file it appears as text.

For individual mail. I can click in the "Note" box elements and the html message appears fine.

However, under

Settings -> Configure Kmail -> Security -> Reading

the settings for:

  Prefer HTML to plain text
Allow meesages to load external references from the internet

are both checked on so I should be seeing html messages properly by default.

After unchecking, then checking again and then clicking apply kmail displays html messages properly for the current session. But after restarting my computer kmail does not display the messages properly and I have to reset those 2 security settings again.
