Actually there is no exeptation on api stability on the extension interface. This is more of a bug for the languagetool which needs to adapt to work with new libreoffice. But the javaloader error seems like your java fails to initialize on the other hand. Any chance you are on 32bit machine? I use an Intel I7 64-bit machine with 16GB memory and 512GB SSD. The reason I raised this problem against Tumbleweed is because after I Googled the failure I found that the common recovery was to download and use the LibreOffice version from the LibreOffice website. There, at least one person said that the Tumbleweed version of LibreOffice is 'tweeked' by OpenSuse. I would prefer to stay with the Tumbleweed version but if I have to I will install the 'Official' one directly from LibreOffice. LibreOffice and the extensions I have for it were all working fine until I upgraded to this new release (which included updated LibreOffice). Help..... :-) Hmm, there is no languagetool package left. I deleted it 2 years ago (give or take). Preferred solution is to use the extensions functionality within libreoffice. Perhaps I am misunderstanding you, my apologies, but I AM using the language tool extension for libreoffice, an official extension which was working. Everything was working. I updated my system through Ysat2 and what resulted was a version of Libreoffice which would not load correctly an extension which had been working in the previous version. I reverted my system and once more the extension worked. You said "Preferred solution is to use the extensions functionality within libreoffice", but I AM using that functionality - and it stopped working after an upgrade from OpenSuse of LibreOffice. It seems to me that the problem was introduced by the update of Libreoffice as the extension itself was unchanged so it is a problem which is related to Tumbleweed's updated version of Libreoffice - hence my bug report to Tumbleweed. I face the same bug. Tumbleweed 2017-08-15 on x64. This issue has been there with previous openSuse versions of LibreOffice, see e.g. https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=906688 Same problem here. Also affected is the zotero - plugin, which has become widely used in academia. Other versions of LibreOffice (including those provided by libreoffice.org and older OpenSuse versions) don't show this behaviour.
I've just updated my LO in Tumbleweed and the zotero extension is no longer working.
Every time I try to install it I get:
(com.sun.star.uno.RuntimeException) { { Message = "javaloader error - could not find class com/sun/star/comp/loader/JavaLoader", Context = (com.sun.star.uno.XInterface) @0 } }
The same happens with Language Tool:
ERROR: javaloader error - could not find class com/sun/star/comp/loader/JavaLoader
Tumbleweed 20170908
Java 1.8.0-144
I also have this problem. According to some feedback on forums.opensuse.org this seems to be caused by bug#1079744 . languagetool should work fine if ridl.jar and unoil.jar are not broken. I.e. install libreoffice from the LibreOffice:6 repo to fix it if you are using Leap 42.3. It should be fine on Tumbleweed meanwhile and Leap 15.0 currently. (no idea if it will break there as well again if there will be an update...) (In reply to Wolfgang Bauer from comment #10) > I.e. install libreoffice from the LibreOffice:6 repo to fix it if you are > using Leap 42.3. Erm, I mean the LibreOffice:6.0 repo, the URL for Leap 42.3 is this: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/LibreOffice:/6.0/openSUSE_Leap_42.3/ *** Bug 1098233 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I've added code to 6.1.0+ to prevent this situation from happening. I updated (via yast2) to Tumbleweed 20170723 After this update, the Language Tool in Libreoffice no longer works. Libreoffice extension manager reports "Error: The status for this extension is unknown" I tried deleting the extension from Libreoffice and then re-installing it. I get an error:- (com.sun.star.uno.RuntimeException) { { Message = "javaloader error - could not find class com/sun/star/comp/loader/JavaLoader", Context = (com.sun.star.uno.XInterface) @0 } } Some problem with the updated Libreoffice?
