Hello, this is just an RFI,
this wiki article: https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:NVIDIA_Bumblebee

recommends installing nvidia-bumblebee nvidia-bumblebee-32bit
https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file/X11:Bumblebee/nvidia-bumblebee/nvidia-bumblebee.spec?expand=1

from this repo: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/Bumblebee/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/

optirun works with the NVidia drivers and when I tried to install from the X11 repo, it wanted to delete the G4 while only providing G02. I have declined to replace the G04 and while the hybrid install boots, "optirun --status" no longer works.
According to the specfile, it only substitutes the drivers for the older cards: G02, G03 but not for the most current: G04.

What is recommended for a laptop with a 700m series G04 card?
Install from the NVidia repo and ignore that line from the wiki or ignore the warning and install the suse version anyway?

I think either the Wiki needs to me updated or the specfile.
Thank you

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.be me
2.install Nvidia proprietary drivers from the repo
3.install nvidia drivers from the X11 bumblebee repo.

Actual Results:
4.install wants to replace the G04 driver with a driver seemingly not suitable for the card.
5.post bug report for instructions
6.receive answer
7. enjoy a beer

I think everything that could be said was already said above.

Yeah. Optimus isn't working since some time for different reasons. Closing as a duplicate of bsc#1091828 ...

So for now better forget about Optimus and run either NVIDIA or Intel alone, depeding on your BIOS/Firmware.
