I installed gnome from CD and added xfce. So I get the gnome login screen but then start an xfce session. Login is normally followed by the xfce splash box.

If I get the password wrong first time, then re-enter it, xfce fails to start. It gets stuck on the grey screen - no xfce splash box.

I then recover by opening another console and rebooting.

It's repeatable.

Hi David,

Could you try
- zypper ar https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/qkzhu:/branches:/GNOME:/STABLE:/3.26/openSUSE_Leap_15.0/ gdm_test
- zypper ref
- zypper dup --allow-vendor-change --from gdm_test
- reboot and try to reproduce this issue again

I no longer have this machines. It's been rebuilt and now updated to Leap 15.2. It no longer has Gnome installed.

I suggest you close this

The fix was already submitted to SLE but is still pending somewhere (not crawled by the bot). It may need some time to be released in Leap15.1.

Feel free to reopen it if you have further findings.
