Sounds like a duplicate of bug #1175487 Could you try the *latest* emacs 27.1 from repository editors. You have to refresh emacs, emacs-x11, and maybe emacs-nox with emacs-info. Don't to forget to restart any emacs server daemon before testing Ping!? Do you have tested latest emacs from editors/emacs? Just started emacs and opened my org files. It seems to work correctly. With the broken package, org mode did not load correctly, unless I used emacs-gtk. Thanks.
