Not sure if this should be closed but I managed to solve this by adding: snd_hda_intel.dmic_detect=0 in the grub booting paramenters. It's a known problem of the recent 5.10.5 kernel and has been already fixed for TW. SLE15-SP3/Leap15.3 kernel had the same issue as well via the backport, and this should be fixed in the next snapshot. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1180543 *** I reinstalled 15.3 to give it a try again on the same hardware. Now video is working fine, but the sound card doesnt. If I add snd_hda_intel.dmic_detect=0 as a grub parameter, the sound card output works but the microphone is not working. So I don't understand why you marked this as a duplicate of the bug 1180543. Let me know if there is anything I can do to have the microphone working also. Thank you, For the microphone, at best upgrade the audio stack including the latest UCM support, as well as installing sof-firmware package. The all needed updates / new packages are found in OBS home:tiwai:leap-15.2:update repo. At least, alsa-*, pulseaudio, bluez and sof-firmware should be updated from there. SOLVED! I removed the snd_hda_intel.dmic_detect=0 from grub. I installed sof-firmware-1.6-1.1.noarch.rpm from here: https://software.opensuse.org//download.html?project=openSUSE%3AFactory&package=sof-firmware#directopenSUSE Now both sound output and microphone works! Still need to have touchpad and trackpoint working and Lenovo E14 compatibility with 15.3 is 95% solved. Thanks! |
Got a new laptop Lenovo E14. The video card is not supported by the default kernel (5.3.18), so I tried the latest kernel 5.10.5-1.g19815f3-default and now the video is working as expected (got desktop effect working now). Before upgrading the kernel, the audio was working fine, but after the upgrade it doesn't. So it seems there is a regression in the new kernel. The audio card: 00:1f.3 Multimedia audio controller [0401]: Intel Corporation Device [8086:a0c8] (rev 20) Kernel driver in use: sof-audio-pci More info about the audio card and laptop here: http://alsa-project.org/db/?f=d0c11b5cf409394128c61576b489aee3c427ae17 Also tried openSUSE 15.3 Alpha and there are more devices that are not working (touchpad, audio are just a few of them) Please let me know if there are any other info that is needed.
