Please describe the problem more verbose. What exactly do you put on the CD (RPMs, metadata)? What do you enter in the "installation source" dialog?) Also attach the y2logs here. Mario - "here" means to enter your comment in bugzilla, _not_ sending a mail to me ;-) This is valid for all bugreports (unless someone explicitely asks you to send a mail to him). So, here's the info Mario sent me: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When i have downloaded some RPM files, and i will install the files, than i can't do that because the beta doesn't react when i will open a RPM file. Also, when i go to Yast-2, and i give up the sourcepath, I can't add any directory, and also no path for example my cd or dvd player. I can burn the RPM files on a cd, but when I can't add a path to the drive, the computer doesn't know where it can find the files. I go to Yast-2, and then to add. I am going to the place where the files are saved, and then i click on OK. It won't work. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mario also attached 4 screenshots to the mail showing the Add-On YaST module with various error messages: - "Error There were errors when restoring the source configuration. Not all sources will be available for configuration. cd:///?devices=/dev/hda,/dev/hdc/: Cannot create the installation source" [OK] - "Unable to create installation source from URL 'cd:///'. Try again?" [Yes/No] - same message with 'dvd:///' - and again with 'dir:///home/famkoezema/KDE-3.5.2/' Mario, the y2logs are still missing. Please save them using "save_y2logs" and attach them to this bugreport. > When i have downloaded some RPM files, and i will install the files, > than i can't do that because the beta doesn't react when i will open a > RPM file. How do you try to "open" it? (which application, what do you do, what happens then?) > Also, when i go to Yast-2, and i give up the sourcepath, I > can't add any directory, and also no path for example my cd or dvd player. My interpretion of this is that you have _only_ *.rpm files in the directory/on the CD. Correct? When you have attached the logs and answered the questions, please set the bug status back to "ASSIGNED". I don't see any message from Mario since this bug was opened. Please reopen this if you can provide more information. mass reopening all SuSE Linux bugs that are set to REMIND+LATER to change the resolution to WONTFIX (adapting to new policy) mass reopening all SuSE Linux bugs that are set to REMIND+LATER to change the resolution to WONTFIX (adapting to new policy) mass reopening all SuSE Linux bugs that are set to REMIND+LATER to change the resolution to WONTFIX (adapting to new policy) Closing old LATER+REMIND bugs as WONTFIX - if you still plan to work on it, feel free to reopen and set to ASSIGNED. In case the report saw repeated reopen comments, it's due to bugzilla timing out on the huge request ;( |
