The bootloader config should get it´s configuration from the bootloader directly rather than from config files. If you have other versions of linux installed this leads to a conflict if you change the bootloader settings with another version.
The bootloader module should display the values of the currently installed bootloader and provide an ability to change them.
Also IMHO LILO as bootloader should be dropped. It doesn´t have any advantages over GRUB apart from that it doesn´t work reliably after e.g. a kernel upgrade.

About LILO: This is another debate, you might File another Enhancement for that.

Dropping LILO is only a good idea if further enhancements like this are made, so that you don´t have to support multiple bootloaders.
