Description Jean-Daniel Dodin 2006-05-16 07:25:40 UTC
I would like to find in the standard yast menu the install summary I have at the end of the install.

That is the one giving the setup with hot links to the edit part. I think there are 2/3 of them during install (one at the very beginning, an other after the first reboot.

these menus are very handy. They could be enhanced to show all the most important setups one have to do in the beginning but don't always want to do at install time (for lack of time, for example).

as theses menu already exists, this should not be too difficult

I read this as using the proposal mechanism instead of the YaST control center. Although it might make sense, this would be a huge overhead, because you are not using all the YaST functionality all the time.

there are things in the install you don't find anymore after in yast (or well hidden)

it's not consistent to have different layout on install and on production :-)
Comment 3 Stanislav Visnovsky 2006-05-23 10:34:37 UTC
Which ones you cannot find?
Comment 4 Jean-Daniel Dodin 2006-05-23 11:52:31 UTC
at install time, you have a list with the setup of each element. you have the net cards found, the video, the partitions.... and for all the actual state.
(tv, ppp, I don't remind all)
these setups are not always so evident, so I use to let them alone and wait to the install to finish;

after that I launch Yast, but I have to lurk around to find what is done (the printer, for example)

the install menu is an interactive list of machine setup with buttons to change them on the fly. you have not this in yast, only the control center.

may be a control center with a summary of the setup near the right window module icons?

We should consider this suggestion with the next redesign of the control center.
