Description Lenz Grimmer 2006-06-20 07:39:40 UTC
I am using the KDE 3.5.3 RPMs provided via the openSUSE Build Service:

kdebase3-3.5.3-3.5
kdebluetooth-0.0.svn20060413-7

When I click on the bluetooth icon in the panel to open a browser, Konqueror starts but displays an error message "malformed URL" and fails to display the bluetooth devices within reach. This has already been reported as a bug in the KDE Bugzilla (BUG#123607), some patches are attached to the bug report.

yeah, if the KDE bugzilla entry is FIXED, we update to svn. But it seems no-one cares and we will drop kdebluetooth for feature releases as we do not have the resources
Comment 2 Stephan Kulow 2006-06-20 08:04:57 UTC
"coolo hat jetzt 29.5" -> future releases
Comment 3 Lenz Grimmer 2006-06-20 08:32:17 UTC
Dropping Bluetooth support from KDE? You must be kidding me :(
This worked so well in previous releases. I can't understand why this is being neglected upstream.

What do you mean that "no one cares"? I certainly do care and have been waiting for this bug to be fixed for several months now.
If You decide to drop kdebluetooth I hope You will provide us with an alternative solution with an easy GUI?
If Suse Linux will not provide bluetooth support in the future I am sorry to say that I seriously have to consider converting back to MS Windows.

Comment 5 Stephan Kulow 2006-06-20 16:26:56 UTC
If you care, I suggest you fix the problem? There doesn't seem to be any maintenance since 16 months in KDE SVN.
Comment 6 Lenz Grimmer 2006-06-21 06:33:26 UTC
Please check the KDE SVN now - a patch for this bug has been applied today:

SVN commit 553447 by rdieter:

This bug exists in SuSE 10.0 as well
Comment 8 Forgotten User 4Cp5OYkKcG 2006-07-05 03:15:42 UTC
I installed kdebluetooth-0.99.0svn555671-2.i586.rpm from the factory tree and this fixes this problem.
