Description Scott Couston 2006-06-23 04:58:49 UTC
YAST>Onlineupdate>contacts server ok and displays list of mainly secutiry updates.
>Next

Response online update closed, it will check dependancy, tryed multiple update servers in auto addition or manual addition in installation sources, always same response.

I will try to attach /var/log/zmd/*.log however this screen shows no attach file option, have read all the direction on bug reporting and How to attach file.No value..

Created attachment 91306 [details]
a .tar archieve files as indicated in help pages mostly all ZMD files

Sorry about having to attach files in seperate action - however I trust they will help
Comment 2 Marcus Meissner 2006-06-23 08:14:30 UTC
you likely have all necessary updates installed already if "Accept" closes the dialog
Comment 3 Scott Couston 2006-06-23 23:54:11 UTC
I think this is entirely possible, however what is wrong with the catalog to indicate a massive list of updates YET to be installed. Final test was with HTTP host first in update source and CD second in update source. Tested with only HTTP host in update source. > Same Result

The packages identified as likely to already be installed in incorrect!

Have work around.
1. Remove installation source of CD and leave on-line installation source
2. Select Software management
3.Select ZZZALL packages at bottom of selections
4.Packages in this list>Update if new version available>next
5.Packages that are available for installation ARE installed from Online source.

It is painfully apparent 1 reason why on-line update fails it that it is unable to resolve dependency errors shown up in this workaround

Looks like you are still in the window with patches when you experience problem, right?
Does it behave correctly when you run online-update in ncurses?
Isn't it just the problem when you see all the patches (installed/uninstalled/not relevane) as in bug 183735?

Bug Closed as one of the many updates to YOU has corrected the problem
