When you add a repository you get a message box saying

"reading catalog information"

or something similar, that is a very slow process and having a % showing would help a lot in not thinking the program has hanged.

This might be hard to implement, I'm redirecting this as an Enhancement. It would be nice to have a guess about the duration of the process.
