Please be a bit more verbose and attach the y2logs (/var/log/YaST2) or point out the report you attached them to. Apologies understand language translation is difficult at best. You guys are very talented. 1. Open YAST>Network Services>Windows Domain Membership> 2. In domain or Workgroup box enter "123456789">Finish Response "Verifying Domain Membership" > Window Closes 3. Repeat 1 above. Domain or workgroup "123456789: is validated BUT does not exist. Therefore screen response "validation Membership" is misleading if Domain or Workgroup does NOT exist. File to follow: Scott, you probably forgot to attach the logs. Use this link: https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?bugid=191465&action=enter Created attachment 93535 [details]

Jiri, please help. later Please advise new status or change back to later I forgot on this and now it is not possible to add new texts :-( Do you mean tehre should be something like a popup "The value entered is neither workgroup nor domain"? Or do you just mean that the term "validation" is misleading? Currently, yast2-samba-client only checks if the entry is a domain - if not, it assumes workgorup by default. re Please, could you specify what do you mean? See comment 8... Scott? no answer Fixed in openSuse 10.3 in YAST>Network Services Syslog provides details where after entering a workgroup, the IP which has entered a workgroup announces itself on the Network as the Master Browser after a M.S Windows auto election is called. IF a domain is entered an the option chosen Enter SMB as Information for Linux authentication, Syslog will also shown IP has assumed Domain Verification as per usual. Good fix in 10.3 - only sorry it took such a long time, but classification was minor |
