RIM Blackberry devices charge very slowly, if at all.  According to the following posts, the Blackberry devices advertize to USB as 100ma devices, and the Windows Driver overrides that, pushing 500ma on the port to charge the device.  Given a specific set of USB Device IDs, could a similar 'charging mode' be implemented?

NetDirect Canada has started an open source project, "barry", aimed at resolving this, as part of a larger project to allow full blackbery sync on Linux.

The Barry project has produced bcharge, an application specifically for enabling high-output charging for Blackberries (blackberrys?).
