Description Rodrigo Ventura 2006-07-25 14:44:07 UTC
I find unreasonable the consumption of novell-zmd. First, it consumes 100% CPU for a couple of hours, not even with "nice"; second, /var/lib/zmd/zmd.db takes up 232M of disk space; and third, it consumes almost all my 512M RAM (process /usr/lib/zmd/update-status with VSZ=410556 and RSS=351304), so it swaps a lot (my free swap space was 127396 from a total of 500432).

Right now I had to disable the novell-zmd, since it interferes a lot with my daily work.

Did you install the package manager ("libzypp") update? If not, please do so first. (Please note you have to do this using YaST2 - Online Update.)

duplicate of the general performance bug, marking it as such.
