Description Karl Eichwalder 2006-08-18 11:52:49 UTC
1/ From within Gnome start YaST by clicking on "YaST" in the menu system; enter your sysadmin password.

2/ Press arrow-down 2 times to activate "System"

3/ Press tab to enter the right icon area.

4/ Pressing arrow-down several times moves from "/etc/sysconfig ..." to "Boot or Rescue ..." to "LVM" and then to "/etc/sysconfig ..." again (instead of moving on to "PCI Device Drivers".

Strange enough, y2log stay empty. No y2log available.

i guess karl means that you can't go back to the first entry with cursor up?
Comment 2 Karl Eichwalder 2006-08-28 07:26:02 UTC
no, the opposite ;) From the 3rd entry you cannot move on to the 4th. I tried it several times with the same result.
Comment 3 Stefan Hundhammer 2006-08-30 09:50:42 UTC
Then that's a Gnome problem. If it works on all other X desktops, why would it be a problem of the application?
Comment 4 JP Rosevear 2006-08-30 14:36:01 UTC
I can replicate this particular problem under GNOME on one machine.

On another machine under both GNOME and KDE I get:
Boot or Rescue
PCI Device Drivers
Power Management

ie it skips LVM although interestingly hitting the up button goes back to LVM but won't go any further (ie not to Boot or Rescue floppy).

I think its a general focus ordering problem not specific to any desktop.
Comment 5 JP Rosevear 2006-08-30 14:38:52 UTC
Sorry, i meant tab ordering problem, not focus ordering.

I saw it on Karl's machine, but I can't reproduce it in my environment.
Comment 9 Karl Eichwalder 2006-09-13 06:38:20 UTC
It is also reproducable on Tanja's desktop (KDE). I admit it is a somehow minor issue.
Comment 11 Stefan Hundhammer 2008-06-13 13:57:07 UTC
Reopening
Comment 12 Stefan Hundhammer 2008-06-13 13:57:52 UTC
Will fix itself with the control center redesign.
