Description Robert Harvey 2006-08-21 10:35:17 UTC
I have used zen updater daily.
When you first run it it asks for the root password.
This is so you don't have to run it as root. For heaven's sake the root desktop has pictures of bombs on it to warn you!

Today it got half way through its list, then put up a dialogue saying that it could not proceed because I was not the root user. Not that it told me the name of the package it objected to, mind.

Neither of these are any help:

This is the only message I got. It does not tell me which package to deselect so I can do the others, nor yet how we got into this silly situation.

When I tried to run it again, after closing the dialogue box, I got another diagloue box containing

After I used rug update as root I never re-created this condition. That does not mean it did not happen, however.
