Description Mathias Homann 2006-09-10 10:26:56 UTC
I'm running 10.0 and 10.1 on more or less comparable machines (10.0 on a 2.5ghz p4 with 512mb ram, 10.1 on a 1600mhz mobile sempron with 1gig ram), and both systems have the respective versions of the same installation sources activated (install media + updates from gwdg mirror, suser-guru, suser-oc2pus, kde3 and kde backports, packman, all from gwdg mirror).

now, when i went into yast sw_single earlier today, and did "update all installed packages if newer version is available", it took about 30 minutes on the 10.0 box, and is still at it and showing ">2:00:00 remaining" on the 10.1 box, after at least 2 hours already.

I actually consider a behaviour like that not only critical but a showstopper.

also, the 10.1 load went up to as high as 20 after boot when zmd was updating its sources.
