Description Andreas Hanke 2006-09-14 00:24:50 UTC
A recent Factory pam-modules update broke gdm:

* Di Sep 12 2006 - mc@suse.de
- remove pam_devperm; this functionality is done by resmgr

gdm still depends on this and fails. From /var/log/messages:

Sep 14 02:09:19 linux-lebr gdm[3157]: gdm_config_parse: Protokollverzeichnis /var/lib/log/gdm existiert nicht oder ist kein Verzeichnis ServAuthDir-Verzeichnis
/var/lib/gdm wird verwendet.
Sep 14 02:09:20 linux-lebr gdm[3157]: PAM unable to dlopen(/lib/security/pam_devperm.so)
Sep 14 02:09:21 linux-lebr gdm[3157]: PAM [error: /lib/security/pam_devperm.so:
Kann die Shared-Object-Datei nicht öffnen: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden]
Sep 14 02:09:21 linux-lebr gdm[3157]: PAM adding faulty module: /lib/security/pam_devperm.so

gdm needs to be adjusted for this change.

Also with the newly updated gdm:
gdm-2.16.0-2.i586.rpm                              15-Sep-2006 23:56   2.9M
This problem remains.

Changing to component GNOME. Sorry for the spam.
