Description Magnus Boman 2006-09-18 23:30:45 UTC
The ZMD client install should create a softlink in /usr/sbin called rcnovell-zmd and it should point to /etc/init.d/novell-zmd. This is a standard in SUSE Linux/openSUSE.
Comment 1 Magnus Boman 2006-09-18 23:32:47 UTC
Just noticed that we do create rczmd, but it's confusing, cause all other rcxxx contains the full name of the init.d script.
Comment 2 Andreas Hanke 2006-09-19 00:11:06 UTC
In many cases there are /etc/init.d/xxx and /usr/sbin/rcxxx where xxx is equal, but not in all cases. I'd like to see a written document which proves that this is a standard.

In general, what happens to people who already started using either /etc/init.d/novell-zmd or /usr/sbin/rczmd? Renaming either of them will break compatibility.

Might this be a duplicate of bug 190025?

I second andreas. Change request rejected.
