Description Mauro Parra Miranda 2006-09-22 05:29:49 UTC
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Anytime the user or testers need to report a bug with zypp/zmd, will be asked for the logs. Would be nice to have just one command to provide them, ready and in the format the developers really need.

Something like:

rug --make-debug-log my-debug-log.tgz

should work just fine; or maybe something like:

rug --make-debug-log

will create a file like debug-$DATE-machineID.tgz

this is worthwhile, but first:

-the performance issue needs to be resolved - right now including the DB in the tgz would make it tens of MB large

-logrotate needs to be fixed, so that only the latest (or few) logs are included.

pushing to 10.3 due to the usual resource contraint problems.

mass reopening all 10.2 LATER+REMIND bugs.

close all 10.2 LATER/REMIND bugs as WONTFIX. Reopen yourself if you still plan to work on it.
