This is on daily autobuild stable from today:

kdesu kcontrol for example fail with a dialog "Die Kommunikation mit su ist fehlgeschlagen" and a error msg on konsole: "kdesu (kdelibs): ERROR: su has exited while wating for pwd."

Comment 4 Danny Al-Gaaf 2006-09-26 18:10:27 UTC
This is IMO not the same bug. su and sudo are available in the system and they work (execpt a "su -" + "Strg + D" cause a segmentation fault, see #208277)
Comment 5 Dirk Mueller 2006-09-28 18:48:26 UTC
I'm quite sure that it is the same bug.. the strace is useless because kdesu behaves differently if strace'd.

can you still reproduce the bug?
Comment 6 Dirk Mueller 2006-09-30 10:41:33 UTC
can you see if this is a duplicate of bug 209323 ?
Comment 7 Azerion Fagonda 2006-10-03 14:43:03 UTC
It is not. That one is fixed now and this one is still there.
Comment 8 Forgotten User QFh0D9oMPg 2006-10-04 04:20:33 UTC
I can confirm the bug for an AMD64-System. System is daily updated to the current factory builds. Problem exists since about a week (about the time the changelog for kdelibs contains the entry about requiring sudo?!?).
Comment 9 Dirk Mueller 2006-10-05 10:10:37 UTC
ok, fixed. but too late for alpha5.

Hi I've try to use kdesu to run aplications but still fails with:
"Incorrect password, please try again" even while the passwd is correct.

- I am using 10.2 final. System up-to-date with YaST Online update.
- Found 1 other person on the IRC with the same problem.

Arch: i686 on AMD64
Qt: 3.3.7
KDE: 3.5.5 "release 45"
KDE su: 1.0
sudo-1.6.8p12-40

The problem mentioned in comment 17 is not the same as what this old and resolved report used to be about.

Please file a new bug about this problem and/or try to find out if it might be the same as bug 223719.
Comment 19 Hadron S 2006-12-29 07:39:51 UTC
Yes the bug is the one for223719
