Description Claes Backstrom 2006-10-09 18:53:43 UTC
I use ati fglrx-8.29.6 built with ati-driver-installer-8.29.6.run --buildpkg SuSE/SUSE102-IA32 my problem is that glxinfo hangs all it says is:

claes@alpha5:~> glxinfo
name of display: :0.0

and then it just sits there. It's the same thing with fglrxinfo, glxgears, fgl_glxgears and so on.

This means that when I try to enable compiz gnome-xgl-settings --enable-xgl
When I try to log in with gdm it just sits there (as it tries to run glxinfo and a grep after GLX_....) If I kill the glxinfo process it starts metacity and I can work. But I want to use compiz. (it's so nice)

Should be gnome-xgl-switch --enable-xgl not gnome-xgl-settings.
