Description Scott Couston 2006-10-20 07:14:42 UTC
Firstly the opening of "open office" does NOT consume as much CPU resources as YAST2 - See CPU_evolution.

Yet YAT almost totally consumes all available CPU resources - see CPU_YAST.

I feel the YAST management model cannot be added to as it is at the limit of its compiled memory limitation.

Please consider re-compiling with a greater RAM utilisation and trust CPU demand should decrease.

I now this is a trite answer to YAT slow loading, its online update problems etc, however we need to correct things near future when we might want to add something to YAST.

Test was on P4HT 1.5GIG RAM

The performance and resources consumption have been reduced for 10.2, therefore marking the bug as FIXED.

Of course further optimalizations are planned.

Reporter very happy with 10.2 compile of YAST - re performance and resource consumption.
