Sorry, saying just "latest" does not help much.

"rpm -q zmd rug libzypp"?

No it doesn't seem to be a duplicate, as the service vanished completely.

I can't reproduce this; it just happens sometimes (and hasn't since the bug report). Sorry. :-{

It could also be a duplicate of https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=212048

Please attach the yast and zenworks logs, assuming that they still contain a reference to the lost service. If they already rotated away, too bad, try to reproduce it again.

Well, it is not a duplicate of bug 212048 because there would be evidence of that in y2log.
Unfortunately I missed the fact that Martin did not attach zmd-backend.log so I cannot verify, but let's just assume this is a duplicate of bug 184813.
