This is when I put the mouse pointer near the update icon in the taskbar and wait for few secs
Could you attach the yast log files, please? http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs/YaST Here are my yast logs (y2logs.ygz) Created attachment 103356 [details]
The Yast logs
Strange thing ... I have inserted my opensuse dvd and went to Yast Control Center / Software Management. This time, Yast seems to have updated / downloaded the 'catalog' and I can now install additional software. Also, access to Yast Control Center / Online update does the same thing (seems to donwload / update the sources or the catalog) and now I have access to this tool again. No more crash (previously, Online update, software management and other package related tool on the Control Center crash, meaning that then open and close right after). I don't know if you can close this bug. I will put here the latest yast log for you to investigate. Let me know if you need additional infos. Created attachment 103365 [details]
Yast logs after the error disappear
(In reply to comment #5) > I don't know if you can close this bug. Not yet - that it's now working for you after a workaround does not mean the root evil is resolved. The logfiles will show. Also, in reply to comment #5. I wasn't able to successfully use the Online Update Configuration, Online Update, or Software Management until I read your comment by having the DVD in the drive. They kept crashing (closing without any on-screen errors) on me after flashing a very brief message about downloading something. I got them to work by making sure I had CD1 in the drive before running them. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 216460 *** |
