With NetworkManager, the network is brought up after login and needs several seconds to establish a connection.

opensuse-updater, however, tries to refresh the installation sources instantly, fails to do so and displays "Cannot create the installation source" in the tooltip until the next refresh interval is reached.

Ideally, it should wait until the network is available. This is loosely related to bug 219954: A way to trigger the refresh manually would help here (but is not exactly what this report is about).

Fixed, we use kded status now. Note that if you dont't use NM or you use the network control setup, it will take it as being online.
