Thes summary pretty much says it. The "Synchronizing..." alert remains indefinitely and must be aborted.

The symptom has occurred twice, once in Beta 1 and once in Beta 2. It appears to occur the first time an installation source is added, but not after it is merely refreshed, though I have only read-only local sources (CD and DVD), so they don't ever change after being added.

Duncan, it looks like this also affects OES2/SLES10 SP1.

Am I to understand you're asking for more log files from a bug I reported almost six months ago? I'm afraid that's not going to be possible.

I am seeing this exact same thing.  I installed sles10 sp1.  I then add an installation source, in my case http://farek.provo.novell.com/install/cypress/Beta3.12/i386

when syncing with zenworks, it just sits there for 400 seconds until it times out, giving such messages as "Your services was added successfully in YaST but cuold not be synchronized with Zenworks: command timed out after 400 seconds."

and

"Sourch synchronization  with ZMD failed. Save changes anyway. Y/N"

I looked at the two zmd logs you are asking for in /var/log and they haven't been updated in four days according to the modified date, but I'll attach anyway.

If we can't get OES install source to synch with ZMD when adding in this method then that is not good.

Glen, if you run into the same problem, would it be possible to attach strace to the rug process to see in which syscall it hangs?

No action for 2 months.  Please reopen if you can supply the requested information.  For now I close it as CANTFIX.
