Got error:
Could not find Exchange Web Storage System

owa server in settings was configured as http://owa.xxx.yy/exchange and this URL is working through browsers, username was configured like username (not username@domain, or something)

Did you try domain\username?

He may not have, but I have. Doesn't help. Evolution isn't parsing the URL properly and barfing internally, but giving the user a useless error message, I think.

See bugs 231388, 238694, and also 235259 (the last isn't exactly related, but close).

Can you get E2K_DEBUG traces of Evolution process? See http://gnome.org/projects/evolution/bugs.shtml for how to enable them.

The 502 Bad Gateway comments in the log are misleading. In IMAP mode, it gets to that server just fine.

I think there are more logs like this in the bugs mentioned above

238694  Shows a better trace, which indicates that evolution can't seem to parse the url.
