Anyway, the key with the wafting Windows flag ;-) Thanks for the report! On my keyboard, it's the penguin key (Cherry CyMotion) ;) Well, I first assumed it is due to a broken configuration but when you came up with this I reproduced the behavior with a vanilla configuration, too. I also took a short look at the code and it seems that gnome-panel seems to be involved as it has codepaths which are capable to trigger show_main_window of the main menu.
