*** Bug 222154 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Was it clean installation or upgrade? Can you reproduce it with printer unplugged? Yes, it was a clean installation with opensuse 10.2 alpha5 and updated now to beta 2 I have the same problem with unplugged printer. I also tried to reinstall hplib and hpoj. I couldn't reproduce it with HP Deskjet 930 (but you have all-in-one HP printer) - and it's confusing for me beacuse I hope this bug is already fixed So it seems that your problem is in ppd database. PLease attach your /var/lib/YaST2/ppd_db.ycp file - I will check it. After delete /var/lib/YaST2/ppd_db.ycp file I'm supposed you will be able to clean upgrade Created attachment 106200 [details]
ppd file as requested
I will delete this file and try to restart printer installation

screenshot
1) deleted ppd_db.ycp
2) reinstalled yast printing and yast hardwaredetection
3) started printerinstallation wit disconnected printer - everything was fine then
4) connected printer - suddenly suseplugger crashed (please see attachment)
5) started yast printer installation with connected printer now. Please have a look at the attachment (screenshot). (download of cups-driver-stp failed). I had to choose my printer manually
6) reinstalled cups-driver and cups-libs
Now the printer is working fine - but I do not know why. There still must be something wrong
when ommit suseplugger problem (kde-maintenance related) your problem is in installed cups-drivers (duplicate of #218760)? if yes, reassign suseplugger problem to kde-maintainers@suse.de, please no, i was just asking if the suseplugger problem could be related. my problem is that running my system with a SATA HDD I can not add a IDE-HDD to my system - it will then alway mix both HDD's >my problem is that running my system with a SATA HDD I can not add a IDE-HDD to my system - it will then alway mix both HDD's But it's not related to this report, isn't it? ;-) cups-driver-stp is not longer available, instead of it use gutenprint (#220278) cups-drivers is not installed - this is duplicate of #218760 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 218760 *** sorry, it was my misunderstanding of suseplugger - forget it (i thought that suseplugger would also control HDD hardware) but the bug is still there concerning my HDD's: I can not boot my system if I add the IDE HDD yes, I understand but leave this and create new bugreport for that |
