Description Terje J. Hanssen 2006-12-09 20:00:04 UTC
I did a ssh connection to start firefox over Internet, that is from a local 10.2 i386 Gnome terminal to a remote 10.2 x86_64 workstation. Firefox started apparantly ok, but the gnome terminal listed the following error messages:

~> ssh 62.128.xxx.xxx -X firefox
Password:

(Gecko:13849): libgnomevfs-WARNING **: Failed to open session DBUS connection: Failed to execute dbus-launch to autolaunch D-Bus session
Volume monitoring will not work.
arguments to dbus_connection_send_with_reply_and_block() were incorrect, assertion "connection != NULL" failed in file dbus-connection.c line 3168.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.

This is not specific to x86_64. I can reproduce it if I ssh into a machine and simply try to run "dbus-monitor".

Dave Richards says he gets this bug all the time if he logs in through XDMCP, which sounds like a pretty major bug. Raising severity to Major.
