Description Seth R Arnold 2006-12-16 00:05:04 UTC
When upgrading from SLED10 to OS10.2 using the 45-meg network install disc, the installer downloaded many pointless files. After selecting English as the language to use, and well after the system could run uname -r, the installer downloaded french, german, slovakian, 'du', and other package descriptions. The installer also downloaded x86_64 and PPC "selections" descriptions, even though my system is an x86. On a connection with some level of latency, all the extra downloads add up to a minute or two of completely pointless downloading.

= Bug 208457 + Bug 208452?
Comment 2 Seth R Arnold 2006-12-18 21:21:16 UTC
Agreed, thanks, picking 208457 arbitrarily :)
