Description Richard Bos 2006-12-26 19:25:21 UTC
What's the reason that aspell-nl is not part of the distribution?
The tarball exists at
http://aspell.net/man-html/Supported.html

When running gramps (a python/gnome program), it complains about missing
aspell nl_NL lists:
# gramps
Spell.py: aspell: No word lists can be found for the language "nl_NL".

I guess it has something to do with the license, but
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=42024 is not clear what the
exact problem is. Is it possible to have the aspell-nl tarball included
in distribution?
Comment 1 Ladislav Michnovic 2007-01-11 10:39:30 UTC
That's strange, aspell-nl has Package status: production, but I can't find it not even on ftp mirror, nor DVD media.
Comment 2 Andreas Jaeger 2007-01-11 12:51:18 UTC
Rudi, any ideas?
Comment 3 Ladislav Michnovic 2007-01-29 17:45:19 UTC
I think Rudi is not set as info provider.
Comment 6 Ladislav Michnovic 2007-06-06 12:07:54 UTC
Ping.
Comment 7 Andreas Jaeger 2007-08-11 13:52:54 UTC
Jürgen, what is the status here?
Comment 8 Ladislav Michnovic 2007-08-13 08:04:07 UTC
I have to create new tarball from another project, where the license is O.K.
The old tarball is unusable from the legal point of view.

sorry, I was not aware, this bug was waiting on me.
It actually is blocked by bug 292426.

Could you please check out new aspell dictionary RPM aspell-nl-1.00.7*.rpm from
repository http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/lmich/ ?
Please send me your feedback. Thank you.

This package will appear in Beta 2.
Comment 12 Richard Bos 2007-08-14 20:01:48 UTC
I Installed the package on 10.2
After the aspell installation I started the application (gramps) that
complained about the missing aspell data. This time no message about
a missing aspell, so it seems to be solved.
I have no other idea how to test the package. I check via
# strings /usr/lib/aspell-0.60/nl.rws | less
and I recognize the words that are spit out. :)

One remaining question, why an i586 package and not a noarch package?
Is that because the package is derived from just aspell?
Comment 13 Ladislav Michnovic 2007-08-15 07:41:30 UTC
Yes, it could be noarch. Thank you.
Package has been submitted.
Comment 14 Martijn Pepping 2007-08-15 09:17:40 UTC
confirmed for openSUSE 10.3 beta 1 as well.
Comment 15 Ladislav Michnovic 2007-08-15 13:59:51 UTC
Thank you, Martijn.

(In reply to comment #13 from Ladislav Michnovič)
> Yes, it could be noarch.
No it could not be noarch because dictionaries depend at least on endian.

Comment 17 Kees Bakker 2007-10-09 14:11:30 UTC
So, what's the story with aspell-nl and openSUSE 10.3 release? I find this package on the DVD, great. But why is it missing from download.opensuse.org? At least, it is not in
http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.3/repo/oss/suse/i586/
