This is not possible in YaST now. But can do it with sysconfig by hand (for each ifcfg-eth... create ifroute-...) Move it to later as feature-request Did you try SCPM for this problem? SCPM could work for this. But it's not the "natural" way to do this (and newbie can't find it). Move DNS and router settings in a tab in each network card will solve this problem in the easiest way. Yes, tabs or "expert button" should work. But in fact you're first and only requesting this feature. That means these options should be somehow hidden for non-experienced users to avoid confuse them (also because in previous versions <= code9 we had dns/routing setting under network devices dialogs) When I'll see usable screenshot or mockup I'll implement it. If you want participate, you can join user-experience mailing list (http://en.opensuse.org/UX) It's not just about UI. The DNS/router settings should be different for each device (like for IP). In my case : - I use lan card at university with a specific DNS/router settings - I use wifi card at home with another DNS/router settings. - At university we also have a wifi with web page login which needs to not have IP/DNS/router configurate to work. So I have to change settings many times per day. We are 5 at my office in this case (and working with opensuse). A second step (a better one) could be to disconnect connections and device. For example, on win*** you can create many connections associate to a device and with specific settings. So you just have to choose which connection to use. >> It's not just about UI. No this bug, but all issue. I just mean that I understand what's going on, how to configure, but I don't have time to change current design of YaST lan UI.
mass reopening of later+remind bugs of 11.0 This should be handled by NetworkManager 0.7 (included in openSUSE 11.0) Netcontrol is designed for static (not mobile) configuration |
