Description Thomas Jones 2007-01-18 00:08:36 UTC
openSUSE 10.2 local yast-qt installation. Accepted all defaults. Proceeded with gnome package installation. According to yast2 the checksum for the gimp-help package failed.

Given the criticality of the package for my installation I accepted the risk and proceeded to ignore the package failure. Upon selecting ignore, yast2 proceeds to display a final installation dialog and then closes yast2 and actuates the end-user login screen. The installation did not continue and I am left with a non-working system upon reboot. The user is not able to login due to pam not being installed yet, and no /etc/passwd or /etc/shadow has been generated.
