Description Dominique Leuenberger 2007-01-29 20:43:35 UTC
the latest package of wodim ( wodim 1.1.2-2 ) does not provide cdrecord any longer.

But there are still many packages depending on cdrecord;

rpm -q --whatrequires cdrecord
nautilus-cd-burner-2.16.1-37

maybe there are even more out in the wild.
Comment 1 Vladimir Nadvornik 2007-01-31 10:52:53 UTC
The dependency should be satisfied via the cdrkit-cdrtools-compat package,
which provides cdrecord and requires wodim.
Is there any problem with it?
Comment 3 Dominique Leuenberger 2007-01-31 11:31:49 UTC
I see.

Then the issue is simply that as of today, cdrkit-cdrtools-compat does not seem to be available on the mirrors in the factory tree. That's why the latest upgrade to wodim would suggest to delete all the system.

The mirror (ftp4.gwdg.de) had the last sync apparently yesterday evening. So it would be good to check if this package already exists in the factory tree.

The summary is misleading. It's OK that wodim does not provide cdrecord any more, this is intentional.

The real bug is that cdrkit-cdrtools-compat is not available to the public in the factory tree, which probably needs to be fixed by the autobuild team and not by the package maintainer.

cdrkit-cdrtools-compat is now available in the factory tree.
