the notebook where this problem happens is a dell latitude d820, running openSUSE 10.2, latest available patches installed.

I think the problem is, that the interface is shut down from the network manager, before the nfs mounted directories are unmounted, then the nfs client is unable to unmount the nfs directory and it hangs then.

on the screen the last words are "unloading sound drivers", but I think this is a bit misleading.

Seems it was indeed a duplicate of 166912. At least i did not get any other report about such a problem.
