This is a problem with Kontact's calender (using KDE 3.5.6).

Create three appointments starting and ending at the same time: they appear next to each other in the calender view, each one third of the usual width of an appointment with no other at the same time.

Delete one of them: the two others still take a third of the width, with another third being open.

I think that they both should take half of the available space.

Delete a second one: the remaining one resizes to full size. This is okay.

You can make the calendar relayout by changing to a different date and back.  I'm sorry, but there are much more serious bugs that we have to fix.  Please report upstream at bugs.kde.org.
