While kernel and utilities will happily mount the hfsplus MacOS partition,
the partitioning dialog in yast will not allow me to set a mountpoint
for the MacOS partition.

You are right, currently there is no support for hfsplus in YaST2.
Support for it would need a FATE feature request.
