Description Michael Meeks 2007-04-02 13:10:14 UTC
My slab seems to like showing me recently-used applications that are already present in the favorites menu (and sometimes several of them ;-)

Is this a feature ? Any chance we can elide duplicates based on executable string & name [ eliminating the two "xterms" would be nice eg. ], of course having just 1 'firefox' would be good too.

Rational: allows more apps to be in 'Recent Apps' without requiring more screen real-estate etc.

On one hand, the recent/favorites duplication is a duplicate of Bug #182509

(I suppose I could see an argument that you don't need to move the mouse so far to select a Recent app vs. a Favorite app and that the duplication is therefore potentially useful, though I'm not entirely convinced.)

On the other hand, the appearance of multiple xterms under Favorites is a different story and is arguably a bug, as I can see no argument in its favor. I can reproduce this if I launch xterm both from a launcher and from F2. I can also reproduce this with gedit, though there are apps for which I can't reproduce this (e.g. f-spot). Not entirely sure what the difference is.

Michael,
Do you still see this in 11.0?
