Description Mario Guzman 2007-04-10 21:30:23 UTC
Using 88E8052 ethernet port in ASUS P5W64WS PRO with sky2 driver. Opensuse 10.3, ethernet hangs during receive and will not allow a full web page to display. If I go to opensuse.org the letters will appear and the normal green color will not display, the browser just spins waiting. This occurs for almost all sites. It seems only very small pages work. This was tested using Firefox and konqueror so this is not a browser issue. This problem DOES NOT occur with SUSE 10.1 or Windows. It started on 10.2 so I gave up on 10.2. I was hoping 10.3 fixed it but it did not. The motherboard is an ASUS P5W64WS PRO and ethernet is connected to a Linksys RV041 router running in 100mb. I tried: Using a gigabit switch, delete/install the device, etc. I have DMESG, CAT /PROC/INTERRUPTS, and ETHTOOL output as well as hardware info. Below is the smaller of the files. The larger HW info will be sent on request.

Yast hardware info
Comment 2 Mario Guzman 2007-04-11 15:07:01 UTC
I added the hardware info as an atachement
Comment 3 Mario Guzman 2007-04-14 18:32:25 UTC
10.3 Alpha 3 works! I downloaded and installed 10.3 A3 and the ethernet problem is gone. Here is what I know about sky2 version changes:

10.3 A3 has 1.13 (works)
10.3 A2 has 1.10 (no work)
10.2 GA has 1.10 (no work)
10,1 GA has 0.15 (works)

So some change between sky2 version 1.10 and 1.13 solved the problem.
Comment 4 Karsten Keil 2007-05-05 16:55:07 UTC
So hopefully this is fixed.
