Description Bernhard Bender 2007-04-24 22:42:20 UTC
This may or may not be the same as bug 245660:

I have all volumes (/ /home /var ...) in an LVM residing in a raid1 md device.
(Okay, it is a desktop/server, not a laptop, but i want to use s2disk in case of power failure when the UPS runs out).

s2disk suspends and turns off the machine correctly.
However, the resume fails after reading the image file. It then start a normal boot process, replaying lot of fs journal entries due to the incomplete shutdown.

The only thing I found was a message indicating failure to freeze processes.
Same thing from kpowersave and command line in init level 3.

BTW, s2ram works like a charm on same machine.

Kernel:
Linux berty 2.6.18.8-0.1-default #1 SMP Fri Mar 2 13:51:59 UTC 2007 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux

suspend-0.50-6

I do not think we can support s2disk on LVM in suse10.2. I think it should work in 10.3...

This is actually a duplicate of bug 245660. Since the problem is both a kernel and a userspace issue, it is not easy to backport the fix for 10.2. It should work with 10.3, though.
