With Build 307 on x86_64 I get following error:
Installation of package /suse/norchs/xmlcharent-0.3.307.noarch.rpm failed

I will append log files if necessary. Please request.

The RPM itself looks good to me. 
So please attach y2logs

Same problem on i386 with default gnome installtion

Looks like dupe of bug #274128 indeed, seems like the fix did not reach Build 307. Karl can you check it, and close this bug eventually?

Yes. Clearly a dupe of bug #274128. The fix hasn't made it into stable.
