Description Bryce Nesbitt 2007-05-14 22:25:01 UTC
What I have:
Standard PC with an OpenSUSE 10.2 install made from DVD.

What I got:
Today I attempted to add Java 1.5 to my machine via YaST. I observed that all the java 1.4 boxes were checked, and additionally checked all the java 1.5 boxes.

First, it came back with a pile of dependencies saying there was no "installable source" for each of the java 1.4 packages (mind you, I was only intending to add java 1.5).

After ignoring the conflicts, YaST proposes to delete the Java 1.4 core packages.

What I expected:
Java 1.5 would be added, and I could switch between 1.4 and 1.5 in /etc/alternatives

I ignore the little trash cans on java 1.4. And plunged ahead. And got what I expected (java 1.4 and 1.5, switching with alternatives).
