Description David J Drewelow 2007-05-24 13:26:00 UTC
Would like to have a YaST template for the new printing form, seen on http://www.opensuse.org/YaST/Printer.
Comment 1 Martin Vidner 2007-06-01 14:28:39 UTC
I see, in particular for the CWM tabs (CWMTab.ycp).

Originally reported on 10.3, moving to 11.0.

Well, why don't you have a look at yast2-network. The network card configuration is done using CWMTab already.

FYI:
Since the new openSUSE wiki, the URL in comment #0 is now
http://en.opensuse.org/Archive:YaST_Printer_redesign
(the old openSUSE wiki is still accessible via http://old-en.opensuse.org/).

Martin Vidner,
I have no idea what the reporter is asking for.
What are CWM tabs? Could you explain it to me
or point to an URL with documentation but not to
http://chorgan.provo.novell.com/yast/doc/SL11.1/modules/CWMTab.html
because this does not at all explain what the whole stuff is about.

Regarding tabs in the yast2-printer dialogs:
According to what I wrote in
http://en.opensuse.org/Archive:YaST_Printer_redesign
about "All-in-one Dialogs" and "Different Workflow What Actually Happens"
the dialogs in yast2-printer should be no tabs of a sigle parent dialog.
Instead each dialog in yast2-printer should be a stand-alone dialog
(like the "Add" and "Modify" dialogs).
Unfortunately Michal Zugec initially implemented some dialogs
(e.g. "Print via Network" and "Share Printers") as tabs of
the "Overview" dialog (via DialogTree) which is strictly speaking
wrong (but meanwhile it works as it should with some tricks),
compare bug #443676 and see in particular
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=443676#c5
Comment 4 Martin Vidner 2010-08-18 10:48:41 UTC
David probably intended to use the tabs in the AppArmor modules. But the project was, er, downsized, so I think it is not relevant anymore.

The documentation is in http://svn.opensuse.org/svn/yast/trunk/yast2/library/cwm/doc/cwm_tab.xml (no, we don't have it in HTML :-/ )
