Description Casual J. Programmer 2007-05-28 15:43:53 UTC
The entries in /etc/sysconfig editor are somewhat confusing and should be cleaned up.

I.e. we find Hardware/Network and Network/Hardware

While Hardware/Network seems OK, as network hardware is to be found here, Network/Hardware does not, as there is only one file (/etc/sysconfig/network/config) containing general netwok settings, nothing hardware specific. This should be elevated one level and Hardware eliminated from under Network.

Likewise we find two entries for yast under system:

YaST2 and Yast2, as YaST2 contains just two entries WANTED_GUI and WANTED_SHELL, I suggest moving them under Yast2 and delete YaST2.

There are more items that could be reconsidered.

WANTED_GUI and WANTED_SHELL have been moved to System/Yast2/GUI

The fix will be included in yast2-2.15.35

/etc/sysconfig/network/config is part of sysconfig package, reassigning to the maintainer... All values from Network/Hardware/Config should be probably moved to Network/General.

(Note: All the data are part of the sysconfig files and are included in the respective package. If you find another problem then create a separate bug report for each problem. Thank you.)

OK, network/general is better. Changed it in sysconfig svn.
