Description Casual J. Programmer 2007-06-02 08:07:06 UTC
When setting up a Mobile Phone as modem with Bluetooth in openSuSE 10.3 alpha4, the file /etc/bluetooth/rfcomm.conf has to be configured manually ( to my knowledge ) to make the device available for modem setup, I suggest adding a dialogue for rfcomm.conf to YaST Bluetooth Configuration.

This should include a "Scan for Bluetooth devices" option, to make bonding simpler and more convenient.
Comment 1 Ladislav Slezák 2007-06-05 14:50:37 UTC
Yes, currently it's only possible to configure the RFCOMM daemon, but you cannot change /etc/bluetooth/rfcomm.conf configuration.
Comment 2 Lukas Ocilka 2007-09-10 13:35:59 UTC
It seems LATER is the current status == "after 10.3"
Comment 3 Ladislav Slezák 2008-03-26 14:42:24 UTC
The yast module has been dropped in openSUSE-11.0, BT configuration is done using the desktop applets now.
Comment 4 Casual J. Programmer 2008-05-14 11:24:30 UTC
This should be done in GNOME's Bluetooth Applet then..
Comment 5 Ladislav Slezák 2008-05-14 14:02:10 UTC
Reassigning to GNOME maintainers...

Yes, from a cursory read of the bgo bug.
Comment 8 Tambet Ingo 2008-11-05 06:48:43 UTC
Yes.
Comment 9 Casual J. Programmer 2009-01-14 17:43:44 UTC
Is that the end of the flagpost ? Still not working in 11.1!
Comment 10 Jan Matejek 2009-10-14 18:06:58 UTC
i'm afraid that the linked bug deals with bluetooth PAN devices, while this bug says that it's impossible to GUIfically configure bluetooth-based modem.
which is still true, AFAIK.

desired functionality is to be able to create a modem connection in NetworkManager with the modem being a rfcomm device
Comment 11 Vincent Untz 2010-11-27 10:08:05 UTC
DUN support was added to gnome-bluetooth/NetworkManager recently (it's all in Factory), see http://blogs.gnome.org/dcbw/2009/07/10/unwire-with-networkmanager/

To me, that's all we need, so closing as FIXED.
